Aside from the yellow walls themselves, there’s one thing that is truly iconic when it comes to The Backrooms, no matter what lore or version you follow. And that’s the Chevron Wallpaper that features on the right side of the original image.
For many of us fans, there always has only been one item of merchandise we wanted A24 to release – and that is the Backrooms Chevron Wallpaper!
And A24 has not disappointed, releasing official wallpaper based on the wallpaper from the movie itself!
The wallpaper panels are 30″ wide and come in several different roll lengths (or as a sample if you’ don’t want to commit to a roll), you now can decorate a room – or even your whole house so that it looks like the Backrooms! And while we don’t recommend taking a saw to your furniture to make it look like it’s no-clipping onto the ground, you too can now be in the Backrooms!
The wallpaper is self-adhesive, so no need to use messy wallpaper glues. And even can be removed without damaging the paint, so even if you rent you could have mono-yellow walls too!

Chevron Wallpaper Facts
- The original chevron wallpaper was produced by a company called “Borden’s Home Wall Coverings” in the late 80s/early 90s. The company is now out of business.
- There are two variants of the wallpaper – a blue version and a green version. The blue version is the one which was in the original Backrooms photo.
- Over the years many fans have tried to recreate the chevron wallpaper based on the original image. As the original image is low-resolution (640×480), no one had been able to create an accurate replica.
- In 2024, a prominent member of the Backrooms Community – Regularly Blue, tracked down the actual chevron wallpaper after extensive searches online. He even was given a roll of the wallpaper from a homeowner who happened to have some left in their basement. To this day it is the only known surviving roll of the wallpaper.
- In 2025, Kane Parsons contacted Regularly Blue to obtain information and scans of the wallpaper for use in the movie. It is because of this that the designs on the wallpaper in the movie are accurate.
- Even though the original design was produced by a company that is no longer in existence, the production team still had to go through A24’s legal channels in order to use a replica. According to Kane, at one point an alternate wallpaper had to be used during pre-production until they were legally cleared to be able to use the design.
- The chevron wallpaper is one of two designs used in the movie – the other is the Quixel design that is used prominently in Kane’s YouTube series. This design is a texture used for 3D modelling and renders called “Old Decorative Wallpaper”.
- Like the original wallpaper, the wallpaper used in the movie isn’t yellow, it was actually cream.
