This synopsis first appeared in industry publications (Production Weekly, CreativeBC) at the time the movie started filming.

- September to December 2025:
This synopsis has only appeared on IMDB. Kane stated on his Discord server that it was incorrect and not an actual synopsis.
“A collection of spine-chilling found footage stories unfolds through mysterious recordings.”
- December 2025 to February 2026:
This was similar to the previous one posted on IMDB, just worded differently. Once again incorrect:
“A series of disturbing home videos captures supernatural events that terrorize their witnesses.”
- February 2026:
This synopsis is similar to the one released back in July 2025. It appeared on a couple of European distributor sites.
“The Backrooms follows a psychologist who is forced to confront a terrifying, unexplained realm after one of her patients vanishes into a mysterious alternate dimension.”
