The Backrooms is like nothing else. It scares and intrigues us at the same time. It makes us feel uneasy and it makes us feel calm. It is the familiar and the not so familiar. It inspires us in more ways than we realize.
The Backrooms Online aims to be a central hub for all things Backrooms with a focus on the three main lores/universes – the Extended Lore, the Kane Pixels Universe, and the Original Concept.
While we do focus on the three main lores, we also respect and support alternate versions of The Backrooms.
Backrooms Movie.com is our site dedicated entirely to the Backrooms movie by A24 and will expand in the future to include Kane Parsons’ Backrooms web-series as well as his other work.
Our Vision
- To promote The Backrooms shared universe.
- To provide Backrooms news and updates as well as original articles.
- To provide historical and other information on The Backrooms – bringing together information that is often difficult to find as a lot of Backrooms information is scattered throughout the internet.
- To be a place where people can learn about the shared universe concept and better understand what this is.
- To educate people about some of the misinformation that is out there about The Backrooms.
- To have a central database of Backrooms content which allows fans to easily find content and resources from one place (and eventually to allow creators to submit their own content for inclusion).
- To support all Backrooms creators, both large and small.
- To be a safe place for those who wish to share their own experiences about the non-fictional side of The Backrooms.
- To be a mutual and non-bias site, supporting all aspects of the community, the fandom and people’s love for The Backrooms (*).
Our Beginnings
The idea of The Backrooms Online came about when as – a new fan – our founder was unfamiliar with the Shared Universe concept and was somewhat confused as to what was considered ‘canon’ and what wasn’t. Multiple lores, lores that crossed over, concepts like Dreamcore that intersected with The Backrooms, and finally realizing that there was no official canon as no one ‘owned’ the Backrooms concept were all new. At times finding information on all of this was scattered at best.
With a background in website design and having run several fan sites in the past (including a very large site and forum), they saw that a central Backrooms website was one thing missing from the Backrooms community. Yes, there were many Wikis, but all of these only covered their own in-universe content.
With this as inspiration and a love of The Backrooms, The Backrooms Online was born.
When A24 released the first images for the Backrooms movie in August 2025, we recognized that not only was there a lot of hype around the movie, but also that there was going to be too much information on the movie to just keep it as a sub-section of the site. On finding that that domain backroomsmovie.com was unregistered, we saw this as an opportunity to create a sub-site dedicated to the movie.
Fast forward to the beginning of 2026, when the movie’s release date was announced to be at the end of May that year. With the release of the teaser trailer, we decided to get the movie site online first and continue work on The Backrooms Online afterwards.
BackroomsMovie.com was launched on March 29, 2026.
The Backrooms Online will be coming sometime in 2026!

What we do not Support
- (*) We will not support Brainrot Backrooms content as although the Backrooms can technically be whatever anyone wants it to be, this content is often created by non-fans such as content-farms who use the popularity of The Backrooms for views and monetary gain and/or spread false information about what it is.. This content has a negative effect on the reputation of The Backrooms as a whole, particularly to people who are unfamiliar with the concept. Therefore while it may be referenced on this site, and we do recognize there are people who enjoy this kind of content, it is not something we choose to support.
That said, we’re not all serious, and genuine comedy and parody by fans that is based around the Backrooms is something we do support!
- We do not support any AI generated content. This is to respect the artists, 3D modellers, filmmakers, writers and countless others who spend their time creating amazing works based around the Backrooms. And while we realize that this may be an issue of contention, we have decided to follow suit of the main Backrooms Wikis and Communities that do not accept AI generated content.
- We are strongly against discrimination and hate-speech of any kind. This includes but is not limited to gender, sexuality, race, religion, politics and interests. Any user comments on this site which are deemed to be offensive will be deleted and repeat offenders will be banned from commenting on this site.
