A new Renate Reinsve image has been posted by Comicbook.com of her coming out of a door from the Backrooms movie.
The image was posted as part of their Summer 2026 Preview: 45 Biggest New Movies & TV Shows.

The author of the article appears to think that Backrooms is similar to Stranger Things but without monsters. It seems that maybe they don’t know a lot about Backrooms seeing it does have monsters, albeit very minimal / not always seen. And the only similarities it really has with Stranger Things are the nostalgia and that there is an alternate reality ‒ and the alternate reality that is The Backrooms, definitely isn’t what they refer to as ‘banal’.
As we get closer to the movie, more mainstream and other entertainment websites will begin to cover the movie. And while we definitely love to see more media coverage for Backrooms, we do hope that these outlets will take the time to do research on what the Backrooms is and isn’t, although we have a feeling that this may not always happen as has been the case here.
