Backrooms was the #1 movie on the US iTunes Charts over the last week, taking the top spot from Obsession. Other countries in the world also saw Backrooms take the #1 spot as the movie released on digital last week.
Interestingly, the cost to rent or buy Backrooms is also at a slightly higher price point than some other movies with it being priced at $24.99 to buy and $19.99 to rent. While some other movies (including Obsession) have a lower price point of $19.99 to buy and $9.99 to rent.
While it is still playing in cinemas, screenings are now very limited in many countries. South America have just started showing Everything Must Go which should give it another boost with Backrooms originally going extremely well in that market, being A24’s largest market outside the US.
Current box office figures are $389,741,657 worldwide and $196,762,885 domestic (US). It is the 26th highest R rated movie of all time in the US.
