A24 Japan have announced details about Kane’s visit to Japan next week to promote Backrooms. Kane will be doing a pre-movie introduction in Tokyo on opening night with legendary video game designer Hideo Kojima.
Venue: TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills, Tokyo
Date: Friday 4th September
Session: Introduction takes place prior to the 6:45 screening
Kojima has been seen posting about the Backrooms movie on his social media accounts recently, posting a review of the movie and also mentioning that he was that impressed with it, that he went back to see it a second time. Kojima also has ties to A24 with the studio adapting his video game series, Death Stranding into a movie.
As Kane himself is also a gamer, getting to meet someone as influential in the video game industry as Kojima, seems like it would be a special moment for him.
No details have been given on how to purchase tickets, so it is likely that it will either be an invite only event, or people who have booked for this screening will be the lucky ones to see the introduction in person.
