Appearing as part of a panel called “The Theatrical Box Office Resurgence! How to Get Audiences’ Attention in the Era of Social Media and Online Platforms?”, Kane talked about the future of Backrooms and how when he was working on the movie he didn’t really have it being a horror film in mind.
The other panellists praised both him and Obsession director, Curry Barker for helping to bring younger audiences back into the cinemas. Mattel Studios CEO, Robbie Brenner gave specific praise to Kane by saying, “I think that the box offices are alive and healthy, and I think what you’re doing is amazing.”
