Backrooms is now officially A24’s highest grossing movie of all time on the Global Box Office.with $212 million. Previously, Marty Supreme was the most successful movie for A24 with $191 million. This also makes Backrooms A24’s first movie to gross over $200 million globally.

In other box office news, Backrooms is looking finish #3 in this week’s domestic (US) box office, with new releases Scary Movie 6 and He-man Masters of the Universe taking the #1 and #2 places respectively. It was expected that Backrooms wouldn’t hold onto the top spot not only with blockbusters being released, but also Backrooms recorded most of it’s attendance in the first week due to fans wanting to see the movie as early as possible. Out of interest, if Backrooms had released this week, it would have beaten out Scary Movie 6 and He-man Masters of the Universe as both of those movies did not go as well in their respective opening weekend as Backrooms did in it’s opening weekend.
